I have always enjoyed the beauty of Hilde Morin's fiber arts and was so blessed that she was going to be teaching her bowl creations when I had a gap in my schedule! It is not quite right to say she teaches you how to create a bowl...in fact she moves you to see beyond the bowl. You do learn how to construct the base of your bowl, but after that, her mission is to release the inner artist that lurks (for some of us) in the dark recesses of our souls. Acknowledging that I am a die-hard pattern follower, where choosing my own colors is what I consider creative, this class...I don't know...set something free within me. Such a small creation to have shaken up my imagination. Each time I thought in my smugness, my bowl is done, she would, in her thoughtful artistic eye say...humm, no you are not! Then she would ever so gently ask questions about your creation and suggest a possible enhancement to the story you were trying to tell with your bowl. There are little doors in my brain that were opened and now will forever more allow fresh air in... check out Hilde's webpage
http://www.hildemorin.com/ and if you get a chance to take a class with her...do it, you'll enjoy the breeze of creativity!

We had students who traveled great distances to take this class at the Stitchin' Post in Sisters, Oregon and you will be amazed at the progress we made in our class! Enjoy the slide show and for other news check out the Woolie Blog and Quilt Roadies!

Something about this class really inspired students to use some fabulous bold colors. It would be great to feature this in a TQS episode. I browse a lot of websites and blogs that focus on every aspect of fiber arts from weaving to crochet. But I enjoy my TQS premium membership most when the focus is on quilting, my first love. It's like coming home.

I would love to see TQS branch into more of the different fiber arts, my local guild does that & it's really fun to see what else is out there.

Thanks for sharing so many inspirations of both student and teacher pieces. It looks like a wonderful class.

What lovely bowls. TQS should have her as a guest so that those who are unable to take her class could see how to make them. I live in the UK so am not likely to get to a class.
