Ricky liked "Hank", the Texas Horned Lizard created by Carol Morrissey, so much that he purchased him for his home collection.

The eyes are fantastic. If you have ever seen a horned toad, you know how those eyes are a distinctive feature. This wall hanging is wonderfully detailed and masterfully executed. Great Job! Lucky Ricky.

Love this quilt. The horned toad is wonderful little creature, glad to see them making a come back. We used to catch them, never hurt as of us. We let them go and they would scamper away to be caught another day.

Fortunately, horned lizards (horny toads, horned frogs) are making a comeback in the wild! Widespread use of insecticides was eliminating their food source (those big, red ants that they love), so that's why they were in decline for so long.

When I was a kid we used to see horned toads quite often when we were out playing in Pasadena, Texas. I haven’t seen I live horned toad in the wild in Texas since the early 50s. They were scary looking little creatures so I never picked one up, but they never bothered anybody. I’m not sure what has happened to them.
