Congratulations to Janet Stone, Best of Show winner at PIQF 2016 for "No L," (71" x 70").

Janet writes,

"Inspired by quilt collector, Bill Volckening's antique New York beauty quilts. I thought the large sashing intersection blocks would be a great place to put letters. Except L, that is. Being feaful of curved piecing, all the curvy pieces are appliquéd."

Janet, if you put your sleeve on the back with a tuck in the sleeve front (unsewn front part), then the hanging rod won't pooch out in the front and your quilt will hang straighter at the top. Wonderful quilt and exciting to see the border treatment and how it emphasizes the points on the New York Beauty blocks.

A white gloved lady gave us a glimpse of a corner of the back, gorgeous pieced back with an xmas tree theme.
