The Creative Grids Stripology ruler really improves cutting accuracy and you can cut in about 1/3 of the time of conventional rulers.

I agree with Sandy....20 years ago when I learned to use a rotary cutter and rulers, we used a second ruler to square up with the other along the fold line of properly folded fabric. Remove the second ruler and cut!

I was surprised to see that she uses the mat for squaring up fabric. My experience has been that using the lines on the mat for cutting makes for crocked cuts.
