I put my used needles in a sharps container from the drugstore. It's really for my cat's insulin needles, but I don't see why I can't put used sewing needles and pins in it. No idea what the drugstore does with them all, but I'm pretty sure they're not recycled, exactly.

We need to get a recycling going. I have a jar of needles and pins, Steel, could they be recycled?

I change the needle every 4th bobbin. I just save them and when I get 4 in goes a new needle. Doing this seems to make my ME so much better FMQ smoother.

I have heard that there is a shrine in Japan where quilters leave their used needles after a project. It is a way of giving thanks for the help in sewing the project.
