Alex Hopes to Buy This Quilt

Here is the quilt Alex wants (shown hanging in the Tentmaker's shop in Egypt).

Keep your fingers crossed that the two quilts we want to purchase make it to the USA.

A totally different one is coming for YOU (watch for a contest coming sometime after International Quilting Weekend) and this one is for Alex.

I bought a tent maker's quilt in1993 when my husband and I were in Cairo. It is a tan and brown design on off white. I love it so much. It is an old quilt that was once used as the inside wall of a tent on the desert. Only men made the old quilts. We saw some sitting cross legged in alleys appliqué get so fast you could hardly see the needle! My quilt was nailed to the ceiling in a shop . No one would negotiate with me(a western woman) so my husband did the talking. It is about 80"x80" and cost a little over $125, as I recall. It is a TREASURE !

Wowie! This is gorgeous. I love the black and white. It really sets off the colors in this piece. No wonder you want it Alex. I do, too!
