I love the techniques used here to streamline cutting and sewing of this cute Quilt. In preparing to share with my Quirky Quilters quilt group, I discovered a few changes I recommend. Cut the WOF strips for the hexagons 7 1/2" wide in order to get 12 hexagons from one half yard of fabric. Cut the WOF strips of background fabric 3" wide and subcut into 3" x 4 3/4" rectangles for cutting oversized triangles. Be sure and purchase additional background fabric to accommodate for the larger pieces.

I think this might be a good way to use up an assortment of batik pieces. I like the instruction which moved along at a good pace by omitting all the trips to the sewing machine or iron which most of us really don't need to view. Also great not to have to match points or dots in this technique.
