Okay, its Thanksgiving. But what do you think of besides turkey and pumpkin pie? Cranberry sauce, that's what I think of! Having grown up eating (and enjoying) canned cranberry jelly, the deliciousness that I discovered in homemade cranberry sauce is still a delight to me. Here's my recipe for lower sugar and calorie cranberry sauce. Adding apples to it sweetens it without adding all the sugar that is needed to sweeten those tart cranberries.
Once I make cranberry sauce, I usually have a lot of it left over. What to do? What to do? One of my favorite things is to use it as a topping for these Cranberry Lemon Protein Bars. Quite yummy. You can keep them in the freezer, and they will be ready when you need a boost to keep that holiday quilting going!
