It is with a heavy heart that we remember TQS member Dana Shanes Lynch, who passed away this week after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Dana was a member of a group called the Amazing Eight--quilting friends from all over the country who met online at TQS. This group collaborated on award-winning quilts. She will be missed by many and remembered as not only a talented artist but a wonderful friend to so many in the quilt community.

Click here to see more of Dana's work, those she made on her own and those she quilted for others.

Dana's friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help Dana's family with medical bills and funeral costs. Anything you can do to help defray these costs will be greatly appreciated.

We'd like to share some videos from a very happy time when the Amazing Eight were together in Houston and celebrating their 1st place Group Quilt win for their Amazing Aztec-nicolor Dream Quilt. Here is a Go Tell It interview from the Quilt Alliance featuring Dana.

Dana, we will miss your smiling face and gentle heart.

The Amazing Eight, TQS members who met right here online at TQS, won First Place, Group, at IQA Houston 2014. This is the third quilt that the group has created. Together they share some tips on how they work together, what sort of problems they ran into, and how the quilt was created.

Congratulations ladies!

Utterly amazing. Superb workmanship and I love the story behind how they all contributed to making this gorgeous piece of art. I am so sorry Dana is gone, but it sure seems she was loved and admired.

I was so honored to have been Dana's table-mate at retreat in La Veta where I first met her. I will miss her and her shining light.

Rest easy Dana!
