Why do you have 2 layers on the one side and only 1 layer on the other side? (by folding the one piece in half and not folding the other piece)

Great idea, so glad to view this, as I always make my toppers reversible and have had this very dilemma. I will try this method tomorrow on my Xmas topper.

LOVE this technique! It looks like you have extra batting beyond the edge of the quilt -- is that to make the binding more full? How much do you leave?
