In lesson 9, Sharon shows you how to put a label in your binding. This is a great tip, particularly for reversible quilts where you can't have a conventional label.

Wonderful idea. Made a beautiful reversable quilt and didn't want to put a label on either side. This solution works great and I will use it from now on. Can still put a regular label if more information is wanted and the quilt is not reversable.

Thanks for the instructions.

Sharon, when you write your information on the binding is the binding sewn to the edge of quilt first...and how do you size it so that it's not going under stitching or over the top edge to the backside?

Loved this!
Thanks so much, Sharon.
I've been using my memory to make labels, but not the location. Great tutorial!

I free motion quilt my information on the binding after it is attached. I will try adding the information before the binding is attached. Thanks for sharing.

Once I figure out how to get my machine to stitch the wording in a straight line on this narrow strip, I think I'll love this technique. Other labels are time consuming and often ruin the appearance of a quilt in my opinion.
This method is much more subtle. As I usually machine stitch the entire binding, I will move the print away from the edge sommewhat to allow room for the final row of topstitching. I appreciate this novel technique.

I have a backlog of quilts I need to put labels on, this is a great idea for my future quilts. Inspired to take the time to add the labels to my quilts and make this a habit at a minimum. So easy to do at a minimum, can always add more on a traditional label, but at least, I signed my quilt and given it a place in history.
