The Pacific International Quilt Festival, www.quiltfest.com, awards over 40 prizes in many different categories. Here are just a few of those award-winning quilts, you'll recognize some familiar names and be surprised by some new ones. Our very own TQS member, Sherry Reynolds, wyomingquilter, took home one of the top awards, along with Viewer's Choice. One of the best things about Sherry's quilts is that she quilts them on her 20-year old Bernina.

TQS member Carol Moellers, cmoellers, was recently at the AQS quilt show in Des Moines, Iowa. She was kind enough to send us photos from the show. She also met up with some other TQS members, do you recognize any of them?  A good time was had by all. Thank you Carol and friends.

How would you like to win money for your original quilt creation?  With the holidays just around the corner, those winnings could go a long way towards the purchase of something on your wish list.  In honor of the season, we challenge you to come up with a quilted or wool project that expresses the glories of Fall. It’s the time of bountiful harvest, so let your imagination go wild. The contest, which is open to all TQS members (Basic/Star), runs from October 18-December 15, 2010.

As an added bit of inspiration--and to get you in the mood--we're sharing the pattern for this autumn table runner. With the help of the AccuQuilt Go! Rose of Sharon die set, each of the small pieces were cut in no time flat, and the Olfa 45mm Wave Blade made easy work of cutting the multicolored edging. With all the elements cut and ready to go, you can get to the fun part--the needlework!

To download the pattern, visit our Projects page here. For more information about the TQS Quilter's Choice Contest, click here

We tracked down more quilts at the Pacific International Quilt Festival made by our wonderful TQS members. Included are two lovely examples of past TQS BOMs.  From Nevada, California, Colorado, and Oregon, the western US represented TQS very well.

We found more entries at PIQF by TQS members.  Our diversity is evident in these entries.  The two quilts are from Patsquilts and the victorian ensemble is from Ferret.  Anyone else have quilts in the show?

TQS Member, KakeM, found me at PIQF and I promised I'd find her quilt and get a picture.  It is great to see our members getting recognition.  Enjoy!
