Looking for a quick gift? How about this Fun Poinsettia table runner featured by Jenny and Helen at Sew Kind of Wonderful.

The FREE tutorial provides instructions on how to make a single block.  It's up to you to put three blocks together to make the runner.

The block requires the Quick Curve Ruler (but you can never have too many rulers, right?)

TQS Member, rahhawley, aka Ruth Hawley, was selected at random as the winner of a portrait quilt to be created by TQS instructor, Lea McComas. Ruth's entry was a photo for her mother, Ethel Irene, taken in 1918 when her mother was one year old. That's going to make one wonderful quilt and we can't wait to see what Lea creates for Ruth as well.

Congratulations Ruth and thank you Lea!

If you'd like to create your own portrait quilt, visit Lea's classroom.

Remember Carol Ann Waugh featured in Episode 1011: Stupendous Stitching? She stopped by Bernina's We All Sew site and left some great tips for creating a "Stitch Bible."

Carol says, "One of the things I encourage students to do prior to taking my Stupendous Stitching class is to make a “stitch bible” for their sewing machine. You would be surprised at how the stitches look quite different from the illustrations on the cards/instruction booklets that come with your machine. But the main reason to stitch out all the stitches is to see the “hidden” stitches in your machine that you can make simply by varying the stitch length and width."

Click here to learn how to make a Stitch Bible.

Star & Basic Members: click here to watch Episode 1011: Stupendous Stitching:

After needlepointing an entire couch, it's no wonder that fiber artist and author Carol Ann Waugh decided to take up another form of needlework! Lucky for us, she taught herself to quilt. In this episode, she shows her "stupendously stitched" and quilted works and then demonstrates the "stupendous stitching" techniques that she uses to create her uniquely textured pieces. She also shares a nifty edge-finishing technique, offers clever suggestions for using up leftover bits of your work, and discusses what it's like to create commissioned pieces for private and corporate collectors. Last stop: an on-site visit with quilt artist Judith Trager of Boulder, CO.
