So Paige and I have shopped, and shopped and we THINK we have everything we need to get started on our first quilt.  We have our plan, we have our pattern, we have our fabric and we have our notions.  So let the cutting begin...  What's the saying "Measure twice, cut once?"  or is it "Measure once, cut twice?"  Just kidding!  So tell us, as we get started, how do you like to quilt?  Alone, or with a friend?  With music or without?  And should we let the dog stay? I'll keep you posted...Ruth

It is safe to say that if you have had the opportunity to be a part of a TQS taping, you KNOW we are family. Everyone gives 110%, and then some more. In fact Beverly Price (one of our producers) is willing to give the shirt off her back! That's right, for Pirate Day  she scored this shirt from Jeanette at Neal's Sewing Center in Davenport, Iowa - knowing Alex's growing pirate collection, Beverly is handing her goods over to Alex - And that is without walking the plank! AARRRRRR

We got "crazy" today. There were antique crazy quilts and modern approaches.  You have been given permission to be a pack rat. Then make it even more fun with fabric choices and embellishments.  This show was just plain fun.

One of the guests today brought a bound edition of Peterson's Magazines from 1885. I thought you would appreciate the "current" fashions.  Have you ever seen this magazine?

It's 6:30 am in La Veta.  Taping begins today.  Our first guest is JF.  Fall is in the air and the Spanish Peaks were dusted with snow last night when the thunderstorm came in.  It's beautiful this morning, but wear a sweater outside.  One last duty is to hang the quilts for the first show.

I noticed in the C&T ad they have a DVD by Judith Baker Montano.  Judith lives in La Veta and is a wonderful artist and a Crazy Quilt Specialist. Check out her DVD and see her show in Episode 201.

Our Cyber Bee continues! I would have LOVED to post them all, but our animation program would not accept some of them - so DO take the time to surf the site to see what the TQS family is working on!

You are knocking our socks off! Apparently TQS folks DO NOT have idle hands - stick around - more to come!!!!!

(We are working on the technology issue - rather than wait for perfection - we have decided to just run with it)

WOW - We are impressed! How fun to think that we can virtually quilt together and celebrate each others progress and creativity - TQS members rock!!! We asked, what are you working on this weekend and fantastic!!! - you are busy!!! If you have not yet posted your weekend project - don't be shy. Sharing is one of the best parts of our quilting experience - We are certainly a diverse group, from scrappy triangles, our block of the month to blinds - what fun!

TQS member PattiSure, found my pic, I guess, on www.rickytims.com and voila! Look what she created. I thought all of you would love to see what a remarkable job Patti did...even down to the "cat who ate the canary grin"! Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes, and candy, and sunflower seeds, and quilt blocks, etc...You bunch of crazy yo-yo's!

Hugs,
"Another year older but probably NOT wiser", Justin

Justin's Fan Club in the Forum is already sending wishes his way, but we want you all to know about the big day. The above photo was taken yesterday on a "birthday drive" up and over the Cordova Pass near La Veta. The river is called the Apishipa River. Apishipa means "stinky water," so Justin had to see if the river lived up to its name. According to Justin - Its doesn't stink.

Happy Birthday Justin
