Congratulations to Janet Fogg for an Honorable Mention at the Houston IQA Show. She also won a first place ribbon at PIQF. To see that quilt go to the October 17 blog.
Alex and I just got home, so I will be compiling our pictures and getting up several a day through the week. Come back and see a sampling of the great quilts.
Dear Alex,
(First I promise to get you a new camera.) I am very proud of you. From the first time I saw you I was taken with your energy and enthusiasm and knew that I wanted to be a part of it. You have always had the mission to educate, inspire, entertain and grow the quilting community. With over 12 books, 494 "Simply Quilt" episodes, 80+ podcasts, and 52+ Quilt Shows, you have always sought to bring people the opportunity to realize their potential and grow their own love of quilting. Your love of quilting is infectious, but its your love of quilters that that makes people trust you. As you read the wonderful comments on the earlier blog let me add mine, Thank you for allowing me to join you on the journey.

It is amazing what you can do in an afternoon!
Here is a family portrait taken at Houston. Can you identify the participants? TQS is very lucky to have such a great family and Alex, Ricky, Justin, John, Lilo and Jeff are thrilled to meet with these and many others. You are making Houston even more fun than usual.
He can't take her anywhere, she claims she didn't do it - and hey, more food!
OK - so you didn't get "tricked" by the master of jokesters (Ricky) and his trusty side kick - but there was time for sightseeing before we met up with this years 2008 legend. Look at what we viewed in Washington DC.
John, Adair and I were in Torrance, California this weekend for a family graduation and look what we found at the Torrance Bakery in old Torrance - who said an election can't be sweet and tasty?! And, BTW - the bakery goods there were incredible!!!!
