Midge's QuiltCongratulations to midge4quilts who took home the First Place award in the large quilt category as well as the Past President's Choice Award at the Hemet Valley Quilters Quilt Show in Hemet, CA, this past February.

Midge's quilt was the TQS 2009 BOM, "Stars for a New Day." The project took her one year to complete and here is what she has to say about participating in the BOM.

"I am a better quilter today after competing this project which was all paper-pieced.  The instructions were excellent, and I was able to apply my own use of colors which was a challenge in itself.  I encourage anyone who wants to sharpen their skills and end up with a beautiful quilt as a bonus to get involved with the TQS BOM and other projects."

Midge wanted to share her quilt with all of you and it's designer, Susan Garman.  To learn more about Midge, click here.

2605_ebook.jpgAttention all Elm Creek Quilts fans!

To celebrate the release of Jennifer Chiaverini's newest book "Circle of Quilters", Chiaverini asked her fans to design an original quilt block and submit it for consideration to become the new logo for Elm Creek Quilts.  The contest winner was chosen from among ten finalists by an online vote.

Now C&T Publishing has taken those winning blocks and turned it into a new pattern eBook.

"To be an Elm Creek Quilter" features a sampler quilt showcasing the blocks from the top ten finalists, with patterns so Elm Creek fans can make their own versions.  This eBook is available exclusively online at www.ctpub.com for $9.99.   But C&T Publishing is giving 2 lucky TQS Members the chance to win a FREE copy this weekend

To enter to win click here elmcreek@thequiltshow.com and type in "CT Pub" in the subject line.  Contest ends Monday, March 29, 2010 at midnight PST.  C&T will ship internationally so everyone is encouraged to enter!
