Welcome to the TQS "Quilt of the Week."
Each week someone at TQS will select a quilt they find interesting in the Quilt Gallery and will share it with all of our other wonderful members. This week's quilt was selected by Lilo and is called Blocks in Bloom by TQS member, santacarver1.
It is based on the pattern Plaids in Bloom by Cindy Marshall. It measures 44" x 44" and is made from 100% cotton.
Blocks in Bloom has a little bit of everything from whimsical hand applique to hand and machine quilting.

Who else but Pam Holland could create such an inspiring video about color? But that's not all Pam puts into this video. Where else can you see a blind potter--watch how he "irons," a donkey with a pedicure, weaving, classes, and museums. Of course, let's not forget Frida Kahlo and a couple of quilts too. Take a trip down Mexico way and enjoy Color and Inspirations of Mexico.
Join Pam Holland as she goes on another adventure and spends "A Day in Teotitlan." Watch as she shows us the colors, textures, and patterns of the city. They'll surely inspire your quiltmaking. Of course, there is quilting on display with astounding embroideries and applique.
For added fun, Pam does a little bit of modeling in the marketplace. Have a cup of coffee, relax, and enjoy your travels with Pam.
Patsy shows us her method for free-motion machine embroidery using stabilizer but without using a
hoop. Her grapevine and curlique design gives an added zing to her quilt block. Patsy also discusses decorative threads and how to tidy them up after you've finished embroidering.
She will add a new tool to your quilter's tool belt when she explains the use of a fabric glue that prevents your applique from becoming stiff and how she uses it to stabilize the edges of her fabric.
