Here is a new way to see quilts. We are honoring male quilters this holiday season. Michael James is our Quilt Legend this year, but as with all of us, he is standing on the shoulders of those who came before.
One such quilter is Ernest Haight. The International Quilt Study Center and Museum had a wonderful exhibit telling his story. You can enjoy this exhibit yourself. Be sure to read the signs and look at the quilting (make sure to look close at the tumbling blocks quilt). Also, check out the fabrics from the dating of the quilts. Often the quilts show stitching declaring who the quilt was given to and who did the quilting.
