Allison Lockwood's quilt, seen here at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, was inspired by a trip to Thailand in 2004. She hand appliqued, hand quilted, and hand embellished the entire quilt. The Tree of Life is Allison's attempt to unite the sensory inspiration of a Thai Buddhist temple with an important cultural symbol.
