Susan and Kay talk about the Spanish Hem Stitch. This stitch was traditionally done by hand, but now you can do it on your machine with Bernina's Spanish Hem Stitch attachment. It is a technique used to join ribbons or strips of fabric and, when completed, creates an open lacey look. In the This and That Embellishment Sampler, Susan and Kay joined ribbon and then overlaid it onto fabric.
