Loved listening in on this chit-chat. Now I know how to "move it" to clean up those stacks of great fabrics I didn't want to cut into. My mind is now focused on the end result. Thank you. Hmmmm... that pile of paperwork might just disappear.

Great advice Katie, loved '1807' and really like your philosophy on being creative. Have you considered doing an online class? As I live in Australia, it would be lovely to access more of your inspiration!

I loved Katie's show for its very refreshing outlook on productivity and how we all get "stuck". Its that first strp that always seems to stop us. I have three ongoing projects that I finally started at my own pace but then decided to get out all my fav quilt books and make notations and mark each one of which quilts to make..no excuses. I have set myself up to play! This follow up was fabulous and love Alex's new art piece!

I truly believe things happen to us for a reason, and sometimes we don't see the connection and sometimes it's like a thunderbolt that we can't ignore. Yesterday I received an order of jelly roll fabrics that I want to use in bed runner. Last night I was looking at the fabrics thinking they are so beautiful together and how am I ever going to get them to look the same way in a project, much less one that I've have on my own designed! I had two hurdles, one the fear of messing up this beautiful arrangement of fabrics and messing them up with a quilt design that I sort of dreamed up. Now, I feel confident and empowered to open that package, and let my dream come true. Alex, it's been a pleasure to watch you all these years, I learned to quilt watching you on HGTV and will never forget those lessons! And now Jacquie, I have new "friend"! Thank you both!!!

Wow. I am not being facetious when I say that this video has changed my life. I have a terrible time trying to take apart a jelly roll or cutting the ribbon off of a stack of fabric that as Katie said is beautiful as it is. The remember forward mantra is huge. My version of remember forward is not only to remember how I will feel when I finish the project. But to remember that the beautiful stack of fabric will be equally beautiful when it is rearranged in another manner! That my beautiful stack of fabric will still be beautiful and not in fact be ruined. Truly. My life has been changed!! Thank you.

Perfect timing! I've been struggling with work vs play time in my sewing room (I teach part-time at la ocal shop and prepping for my classes could take over all of my quilting time!).
I also like the "Remember Forward" approach- I was waffling about going for a long walk, and now i will!
