Author and teacher Marsha McCloskey loves complex blocks, and brings a "suitcase" full of piecing techniques and tips to the International Museum of Folk Arts in Santa Fe, our location for this "star-studded" episode.

Along the way, Marsha demonstrates how to draft and piece a miniature Ohio Star block using her bias-strip-piecing method and shows how to stitch super-precise half-square-triangle units.

She also reveals what she calls "stupid sewing," shares a great use for leftover blocks and scraps, and gets a big surprise from Alex.

As an added bonus, Marsha C. Bol, director of the Museum of International Folk Art, shares the history and vast collection of folk art items housed and displayed at our day's taping site.
