Pam, I don't know if this will be of help to you, but I, too, was undecided about making the 2015 BOM. So, my decision is to make the center block with the house, the heart border, the flower border the mini-piano key border and stop there... unless, I am really having fun and decide to keep going to the end. If I do make it to the end, I will make the applique blocks into a Christmas theme and continue to the finish line with everyone else! This means that I am picking my colors up front to be consistent with a Christmas theme, in case I decide to go beyond the house and first couple of borders. Either way, I am doing a half size quilt so either the short or long version of it will be a wall hanging. Hope this is an idea that might turn you towards joining in!
