Here is Part 2 of a selection of the amazing quilts seen at Road to California in 2010.  There seemed to be even more exceptional quilting than ever and other noticeable trends included the use of crystals for highlighting and the application of thread-painting.

The imaginations of these quilters is beyond belief and I believe some of them are TQS members, can you spot them?

This year, Road to California Quilter’s Conference and Showcase,“The Best in the West," at the Ontario Convention Center, Ontario CA, runs from January 20-23, 2011.

As promised, we thought we'd bring a little bit of springtime to the darkness of winter. Here are more quilts from the In Full Bloom 2010 exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival.

This enchanting exhibit was created in memory of Helen Pearce O'Bryant, the late mother of Quilts, Inc. Executive Vice President, Nancy O'Bryant. In Full Bloom celebrates the flowers which have motivated artists and gardeners for hundreds of years. Can't you just smell the fragrance?

Road to California is just a few weeks away.  We thought we'd take a visit to last year's show to give you some inspiration. These are just a few of the amazing quilts that graced the walls of Road to California in 2010.    There was everything from wholecloth miniatures to abstract design.  The quality of the work every year just seems to get better and better.   Take a look at some of the winners and see if you don't recognize a few familiar faces.   Just push PLAY.

While at the Houston International Quilt Festival we asked people to "Show Us Your Handbag!" and many of you did so proudly. There was every shape and size and every kind of textile. There wasn't a particular theme, but elephants did seem to be on parade. Most of these handbags were hand made and we were stunned by what quilters can do. Can you spot your bag?
