Join Canadian artists Daphne Greig and Susan Purney Mark as they teach you how to create fun and colorful quilts using fat quarters and fusible appliqué. We start off the show with Alex sharing a really cool technique. Who would have thought that you could create perfectly pieced circles using freezer paper (in less than 7 minutes)? Be sure to not miss Bunny Rose as she opens the TQS Treasure Chest as well.
Alex Anderson (Alex Anderson Quilts)
Alex Demonstrates Dale Fleming's technique of a 6-minute pieced circle from Dale's book, Pieced Curves So Simple.
Alex and Ricky meet Daphne Greig and Susan Purney Mark, who share their stories and quilts with us.
In the break, Alex and Ricky discuss quilt backings and whether it is okay to piece different fabrics to the backs of quilts. Back in the studio, Susan demonstrates the pattern Venetian Scroll for Ricky. Then, Daphne shows us how to make Simple Stained Glass quilts.
Alex and Bunny Rose open up the TQS Treasure Chest to find Electric Quilt 6, a quilting software that Bunny demonstrates for Alex. Also in the chest are other quilting softwares, inlcuding Block Base, Dear Jane, and Quilt Design Wizard, which Bunny also talks about. Then Ricky stops by to show Alex and Bunny the Scissoroo Scissors. Once the chest has closed, Daphne and Susan return to answer questions from the TQS audience.
Daphne and Susan talk about the Canadian quilting scene, including the Quilt Canada show.
