Peruvian Girl with Llama was created by Lea McComas. The young girl was out herding her llamas in Cuzco when Lea came upon her. The quilt measures 43" x 38." The stitching was done on a longarm machine. The thread work on the face is particarly dense.
Kayoko made A Soft Breeze in commemoration of her 60th birthday. It is hand-appliquéd, hand-quilted, and hand-embroidered. It was featured at Spring Quilt Market 2015. Take a close look at the amazing use of yo-yos.
Reptile Wisdom uses an expanded two-color palette, English paper-piecing by machine, paper foundation piecing, and machine applique. Karen insists on using 100% natural fibers in her batting. Reptile Wisdom won first place in the Traditional Pieced category at IQA Houston 2014.
