Show & Tell Quilts

How would you like to like to win money for your original quilted creation? With summer just around the corner we want to challenge you to create placemats that are sure to encourage friends and family to linger a little longer around the table. Placemats are fast, easy, and sure to be a great conversation starter. So don’t miss out on your chance to win. Theme: "Summer" (plants, birds, nature, beach, houses, summer activities, anything related) Contest runs from May 1-July 1, 2010 • This contest is open to all TQS members (Basic/Star). • All entries must be submitted by July 1, 2010 to be considered. • All entries must be at least 19”x 13” in size. • All entries MUST be the original work of an artist or a collaborative original work by no more than two artists. • Each entry needs to be constructed of fabric consisting of three layers-a front, back, and an inner layer of fabric or batting. All three layers must be stitched together. You may submit more than one entry. • Your entry may be squa re, round, or rectangular, but it must be completely finished. Unfinished entries will not be considered. • You may embellish the placemats, but keep in mind that a plate will be placed on top. • TQS retains the right to use images of accepted work for promotional purposes. Copyright of work remains with the artist. • All entries will be posted in our Show and Tell area. • TQS members will select their 6 favorites. • The three winning entries will be chosen by ARJJ. • The top three chosen entries must agree to allow TQS to publish their complete pattern on the TQS Project page as a free project. • Prizes: 1st place-$300, 2nd place-$200, 3rd place-$100. • Winners will be notified by email by July 3, 2010.
