Butterfly Effect - I'd never done a pictoral quilt like this one and didn't know quite how to piece it, so I decided to fuse the elements together and satin stitch. The blue in the hands on the butterfly wings and the spots on the wings are two fabrics from the Fabric of Life Projct. I had a lot of fun with this challenge and like the fact that it also helped raise awareness of a good cause.
Stained Glass Stars - My husband bought me the book Paper Pieced Stained Glass Garden Stars by Schwartz & Seifert, and he challenged me to make a quilt from the patterns in it.
Fairy Moon - Entered in a Northcott Challenge . Painted face , hands , feet , hair and wings of my neice Robin on black cotton . Fused applique clothes , headdress , and flowers in background .
Madysens Fairy Quilt - I was given FQ piece of fabric and decided that it would be perfect if I freehand enlarged it, so that it would be in the center of the quilt. Then I made various blocks to surround it so that I could make it large enough for her bed. She is the oldest child of my middle son.
Maddys Fairy garden - Darling applique quilt, but I needed it bigger to fit my Granddaughters queen bed. I made all the blocks & sashing bigger. I added more borders to get the size I wanted. For the fairies wings I used a sheer wedding type fabric. Used flannel for the backing. It was fun to make
