Kindred Spirits - I met Debbie through the TQS HST exchange, and we bonded immediately. Neither of us have a sister (or any siblings, for that matter) and we soon became kindred spirits. We are so alike in so many ways. I found this fabric, and after staying with her for Houston Festival 2011, I just had to make it into a quilt for her. It is heavily adorned with a variety of beads and gold thread. She IS my Kindred Spirit!

Homage to an Old Favorite - After the well publicized red and white quilt exhibit in New York a few years back the online group Quiltguys decided to do a red and white block exchange. These are the blocks I received plus a couple more I added to make 25. Finally set the blocks and finished it up last fall, but just recently finished the binding!

Birds of Paradise - This was a challenging paper pieced pattern and I am glad to be done.

Eternal Paradise

Into the World, Sun and Time - I love landscape photography. This quilt was inspired by a photo my husband took of a dynamic sky reflected in the water of one of our local parks. It is an impression of a moment in one place at one time. The sky and water are pieced squares on point. I also hand-painted, stamped, appliquéd, and thread-painted the surface of the quilt. The butterfly and flower beads were stitch on by hand.

Candy Jo's Rainbow - This quilt went together quickly, I even had some of the same fabrics in my stash. I used 1/4" black bias stitched on with a double needle between the dark and the light values to highlight it more. I used multi-colored thread on the black border and on the dark parts. Made for a wedding gift and named for the recipient.

Beauty in New York - Using mostly fabrics I owned in my stash, I constructed this quilt using paper piecing and template piecing. I started it as an experiment and loved it. I gave it to my son, Dan, who loves the color and design. It stayed with me while he was a college student, and now lives with him.

The Quilting Bee in Greenwork - Purchased the pattern during the Shipshewana Quilt Fest 2012 during the shop hop. I belong to an on-line forum & 5 of us met that year at the festival. I free motioned quilted some of our forum names in the border. The embroidery thread is Princia #12.

Parisian Flowers - This quilt is an adaptation of the pattern “Jalousie” by Alethea Ballard. My friend Kelly bought the fabric in Paris and challenged me to use it in a quilt. It took me several years to find the right pattern. The center is quilted on an Innova long arm machine, while the border was quilted on my home machine.

iCandy 3.0 - I dyed all the fabric in the quilt, and then painted some details on the inner flower petals. It's all fused together and then machine quilted. The quilt took over a year to make, it started out as a sample for one of my classes and then kept growing.

Paul and Cinda's Wedding Quilt - Challenged to make a wedding quilt for my brother and his wife - with colors I was not crazy about - I used a purchased pattern that I had bought many years earlier...I ended up enjoying it immensely....even those large triangles with their biases! I also learned to use waxed paper piecing on the applique. Again, I loved it even more after I hand quilted it with my original designs!

The Wedding Quilt - This quilt was hand appliqued and hand quilted for my daughter and her husband, as a wedding gift. It took 14 months to complete from start to finish. No, I did NOT finish it in time for the wedding! They did get it before their first anniversary though.

Melinda Bula's Summer Rose - This wall hanging is from a class I took at Road to California with Melinda Bula in 2010.

Roses of Lancaster - I learned that smaller is not easier! I added the button embellishment.

Cobblestone Lane - A block of the month from Rosebud's Cottage located in White Bear Lake, MN. This quilt won a blue ribbon in its category at the 2011 Minnesota State Fair.

Broadway Star Quality - The 2012 IATSE local 764 raffle quilt

The Threads That Bind - This is my version of Edyta Sitar's Spool Quilt. I doubled the number of spools and re-designed the border vine to include fucshia, pansies and shamrocks. All the spools were from an exchange here on TQS - The WotRoTT exchange.

Kelmscott quilt - Ive just finished this quilt. It's taken 5 months to make. I have used 3,000m of Rayon thread. Techniques I have used are machine appliqué and free hand machine quilting.
