Dick & Sweetpea - I took a class from Sue from Dog Gone Quilts. She taught us how to make our own patterns fromour own photos.. What a fun class..This is from a photo (in corner) of my husband Dick and his horse Sweetpea. Dick has a antique cowboy hat on and Sweetpea has a 1920s horshair bridle on....What fun this was..
Octavia - Using a photo of a little house across the street from my Son in New Orleans, I created the blocks with Kaleidoscope Kreator software. They were printed on dupioni silk. The entire quilt is silk. It is heavily quilted with Superior tri-lobal poly thread.

Cathie's Scrap Legacy - Used a pack of fat quarters left to me by my sister. She purchased them while we were on a Quilt Seminars At Sea cruise to Alaska the summer before she died.
Scrappy Stars - This red, black and white pattern appealed to me because the high school, college and university my son had graduated from had combinations of these colors. This will be his graduation present next December when he graduates with his masters in Physics.
My Favorite Quilt Shop in Green Bay, Wisconsin will train you and let you rent time on their Nolting long arm quilt machine. Since this quilt was larger than I'm use to I tried long arm quilting for the first time. It was an interesting expereince. I did get the entire quilt done in 5 hours time.
St. Kevin's Monastery ll - This art quilt is of the Trinity Church, one of 7 church ruins in St. Kevin's Monastery City, Glendalough, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. See it at the - ShawCramerGallery.com

Birds in a Blender - The "background" is made up of small squares of a really loud tropical print with toucans, parrots, etc. At some point -- don't hold your breath -- the plan is for snakes or something to be appliqued in the borders; I'm sort of working on a Garden of Eden-type theme, hence the apple-fabric in the borders.
Geisha's Nightmare - This one-block wonder quilt uses hexagonal blocks made of two colorways of the print fabric "Zen Charmer". In this quilt I used multicolored blocks and the more disturbing images (snakes, skulls). The complementary quilt is "Geisha's Daydream".
Jungle Sun - I created this quilt as a part of the Glacier Quilts retreat challenge in Kalispell MT. I had been wanting to make the Framed in Starlight quilt for a while and decided that I could adapt it to use part panel blocks and part log cabins. I love how it turned out!
Camel Bliss - I consider this my signature piece. My two favorite creatures in the world are camels and dragonflies. As an anthropology major I came to really appreciate all the various cultures of the world which is represented by the distant pyramids and the fantastical column. My love of gardening is reflected in the red poppies in the foreground.
Glaucidium Palmatum - Started in Ruth B McDowell class. One of my woodland series. It is a plant from a northern Japanese island that I grow. Primarily machine pieced, one small hand appliqué added.
