Patriotic Wall Quilt - Red-White-Blue Wall Hanging w/White Stars for a Patriotic Theme befitting a Military Household, with tabs and 1"x1" painted board for hanging.

Green Giant Star - To test drive the first section of this year's TQS BOM I used the Minnesota State Challenge fabric. We were limited to adding only one color - mine was spring green, but being from Blue Earth MN it is known as Jolly Green Giant Green!

Särkynyt suunnitelma (Plans gone wrong) - Third time on kaleidoscopes. This one I made after watching episode 403. I should have arranged fabrics a little bit differently. Now it looks to me like some blue-white dishes have been smashed to the floor. Name does not refer to plans gone wrong on this quilt, "särkynyt" means "broken". Maybe there will be kaleidoscope quilt number four, so I will get all perfect. (I should by the book...)

Physics 101 - The original design was 52"x57 3/4" and as our grandson is almost 6 feet tall, I needed to make the quilt larger. Therefore, added a second set of "cubes." Twenty-seven different fabrics were used; 17 different blues (Geoffrey's favorite color).

Flight Dreams - This 20x20" quilt is currently touring in Vapor Trails and Quilt Tails show honoring 100 years of naval aviation. It was made for my nephew, a navy aviator who took us to see the Blue Angels in Pensacola, FL.

Blue Frost Autom Splendor - These are two table runners from a series, The Seasons. I only had these two table runners in one picture.

Stray Cat Blues - Buggy Barn pattern with the cats done in blues and indigos and the flowers done in asian fabrics. I just like this one... the cats are fun and the whole vibe of the quilt is amusing to me. Picking out just the right buttons for each cat's eyes was SO much fun!

Celebrate Americana - Changed out a purchased pattern, added baseball glove and quilt block, Reminds me of Summertime. Can't recall the pattern name as I worked on it different years.

America the Beautiful - Made as part of a class, completely from stash scraps of all types as a means to practice several piecing techniques. Also the first piece I ever tried free motion quilting without pattern markings.

Merit - I took my brother's service medals, enlarged them on a copy machine and then paper pieced them for the border. I placed them around an interpretation of the American flag flying in a blue sky. This quilt was created for his retirement from the National Guard.

Bastille Day - Bastille Day was begun in an Abstracting Landscapes class by Kate Cox. I chose to abstract a cityscape instead, and used several pictures of French cities for inspiration. Many of the pictures contained laundry strung out across the street but I chose to picture small French flags instead.

Sparkle Heart - Sparkle Heart has been created using a range of Anna Griffin scrapbook papers but I have also created it using travel maps, wall paper, gift wrap, postage stamps, a watercolour painting, a glossy magazine advertisment and - surprise surprise - fabric. It is a quick and easy project. It measures about 5 inches/14cm square.

Quilt Shopping Heaven - My friends from Tater Patch Quilts in Merrill, OR gifted me with blocks they made to go witht he panel and finishing fabric for this quilt when I moved away in 2004. I finally put it together in 2010. It brought back fond memories.

Hills of Spring - I saw this quilt on the Simply Quilts TV show. Picked three fabrics to headline, then had fun doing what I really like - choosing coordinating fabrics, especially from my scraps.

Sparky - This is a Sparky applique that was made from a poster size blow-up of the Sun Devil's mascot. It was made for Sparky's "dad". His office sofa was in need of a quilt to throw across the back, and he really likes Sparky. He will live in the ICA building overlooking Sun Devil Stadium.

Sparkle Row by Row - I love to paper piece and I love bright colors. I added over 6500 Swarovski Crystals to this quilt to really make it "sparkle"

Sara and Brian's Quilt - I got this pattern by taking a class called Blue Spools, as the teacher's example quilt was done in blue and white batiks (which made a very striking combination -- with a small bright yellow narrow inner border to add spark). I'm guessing at the dimensions of mine.

Oh, The Places We've Been - We gathered patches as we traveled for (and with) my daughter. Now she can enjoy them everyday in her living room. I saved a couple of blank squares for future adventures.
