Flying Feathers - I hoped this quilt might appeal to quilt judges more than my black wholecloths. It's not as me, but it was an interesting project. This is the quilt that broke my cheek bone!

Thoroughly Modern Icon - Made in a challenge; I received a "bag of stuff" from another member of my contemporary bee. I did not know who I was making it for, but assumed the Lady of Guadalupe motif on the fabric was important to her. It was quite a challenge to make a traditional saint into a contemporary quilt! The asymmetry, wacky borders and the tacked down plastic rosary helped.

Memories of Mykonos - Used Sue Olsen's "The Artist in You" technique.

Under the cool blue sea - Quilt was made for a class to demonstrate temperature. I usually like warm colors and wanted to challenge myself to do something cool.

African Stars - Yellow/orange background fabics are batiks purchased in the U.S. All other fabrics were purchased in Ghana, West Africa in 2000.

Out of the Depth - Approx. 54" x 54" Log cabin blocks some skewed to give an illusion of depth - drawing your eye to the centre of the quilt.

Ancient Rhapsodies - A rhapsody quilt based on petroglyphs from the American southwest. The skeleton is landforms-hoodoos, buttes and arches. The petroglyphs include Kokopeli , a warrior, snakes, lizards, owls, antelopes and elk and a spiral.

Antique Butterflys - I was given a ziplock bag of blocks that we figured out were over 100 years old. The Butterflies were "feed sack" material appliqued on to muslin.

Baby Bear - Circles again using technique shown by Alex Anderson. Baby gift for a co-worker's first baby girl, born March 5, 2009!

Hungry Caterpillar - The quilt pattern in magazine was too small and wasted some of the fabric on the panels that I felt looked better included. I liked the idea of the attic window for the borders. Without seeing the quilt in the magazine I would not have been inspired to make my own version.

Viola - My nephew graduated from college as a music major. His instrument of choice is the Viola. So I shopped for music fabric for a couple of years before making his quilt. I wanted it masculine and reflect my nephew. He loves it!!

Red Hat Friendship - Red Hat Fabric used with the friendship stars. Made for my sister so she would be warm at work as a professor in mn winters.

For My Dad - This is a lap quilt that I made for my dad. He was in the army air corps division. He worked on planes as a mechanic during World War 11. He always wanted to be a pilot but that dream was never acheived. That is the inspiration for the design.
