God's Promise - I made this quilt for a childhood friend who collects Noah's Ark things. Another childhood friend of ours hand embroidered the animals in the border. There are more photos on my Webshot's album here: http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/571134684NJknKm?vhost=entertainment
8 to the Bar - I wanted to use my music fabric and my own design. It was shown at Quilt Colorado last June and at "Symphony of Quilts" in Mesa, AZ this past March.
Maggie Meets Foxy - A picture of our recently deceased boxer met our granddog Foxy. The picture was printed on white cotton fabric. Three layers of trapunto was used and then the quilt was thread painted. A bandana was added to Foxy for good measure.
Sylvia's Quilt for Hank - This is the second large quilt made by my student, Sylvia. Moda Pine Creek Crossings fabric by Holly Taylor was used through-out, and inspired this quilt
Arab Coffee Pot Trio - These coffee pots are among my collection of Arabian memorabilia collected during our 10 years living in Saudi Arabia. They are fused applique, hand painted, thread painted and machine quilted.
Ferret Wall Block - My sister loves ferrets. I'm experimenting with making small quilt blocks stretched on canvas as quick wall art gifts. The inner square has a "sister" sentiment. This was one of her birthday gifts.
Autumn Leaves - I'm trying to decorate my home with quilts with a goal of having a different one for every season. I had lots of autumn fabric leftover from the Thanksgiving placemats and napkins I made years ago, which was perfect for this Autumn Leaves design.
Chevronlet - This quilt is for my 18 year old nephew. I used Civil War Crossing fabrics from a Jelly Roll and reproduction neutrals I had in my stash. I made the chevrons slightly elongated by sewing 2.5" strips together and cutting 60 degree diamonds 2" wide. There are 1208 pieces in this quilt.
