Union Jack of Friendship - This was made as a gift for our friends in UK. We recently visited and celbrated the 4th of July with them. I used red white & blue fabrics from my stash to create the Union Jack the flag of the United Kingdom.
Beatriz's Garden - This quilt was designed after I purchased a package of 5 fabrics at the Chicago Quilt Festival. I decided to cut 21/2 in. squares and then created the zigzag pattern around a center panel from one of the fabrics. The top and bottom and stripes from the same fabric as the center. This was made for my new granddaughter born in May.
Grandstand Fireworks - I was intrigued with Margaret Miller's TQS segment in Series 4 on angle play blocks, I had to make one of these amazing quilts. This quilt has over 15 different triangle blocks and over 25 different fabrics. I just love how it turned out. I had so much fun selecting the fabric for this very eye popping quilt. Tim Juhl did the quilting and he did a fantastic job. It will be entered in competition to be judged at the Iowa State Fair. We are both very excited to see how it will do. See the next picture to admire all the fantastic quilting that makes this quilt just burst with excitement. I used Ricky Tims piped binding techinque to finish off the quilt. It was just the perfect touch to complete this quilt.
Outside the Box - This quilt is my daughter's graduation gift - she likes bold designs, black & white with a bit of red. The pattern translated to me - thinking outside the box - a good tool for succeeding in life :)
I adapted Maaike's pattern to enlarge the quilt - added rows and rejigged corners.
Autumn Geometrics - Inspired by John Willard's teaching in his Summer 2008 Spontaneous Geometrics, at the Thames Institute of the Arts in Chatham ON. Completed two tops in the class, created a few more after in autumn themes.
Taggies - These little beauties are designed for the tags - the soft, cuddly labels or tags that babies seem to love. They have to be given in pairs - so there's one ready for use when the other is in the wash :)
Dave & Joanne's Quilt - This is a wedding celebration quilt. I like the woven metaphor for married life - lots of ins and outs and round and round; together is a beautiful thing.
Spike's Baby Quilt - Designed for great-nephew, the front is black/white/red (mom's favorite colours) and the back is orange/black (dad is colourblind but likes orange!).
Go Cal! - Was going to do Eleanor Burns' Tossed nine-patch but got lazy and neither cut nor tossed the nine-patch blocks. Gift to my Berkeley professor uncle.
