Dad's quilt - Made this quilt for my dad who used to be a racing cyclist in his younger days! On the front of the quilt is his picture. On the back are pictures from his idol a Belgian world champion racing cyclist Eddy Merckx.

Batik Wheel

Batik Wheel - This was started in 2008 but finished in 2010. It was waiting for quilting ideas and that came when I brought my 730e. The circles are quilted in the hoop (first for me). The cable was drafted by me using Alex's wonderful classroom video and book. I used the BSR with a YLI varigated thread on my machine for the first time to quilt a quilt versus practicing. It's not perfect but not bad for the first time.

Bailey Pop - This quilt was created for my guild's "Fine Art Challenge". I selected Andy Warhol's "Marilyn Monroe Series" as the inspiration for the piece. Bailey was a very happy, inspiring dog and my most loyal friend for 18 wonderful years.

There Will Always Be A Spring - After a long difficult year, I needed to remind myself that there will "always be a spring" and that it was my attitude towards change that was holding me back. This quilt is constructed with a pieced background, raw edge applique, and dimensional beaded hand painted flowers. The tree is heavily thread sketched.

I made this quilt, to raise a higher awareness to protect flora and fauna within the rainforests of this world. This quilt is currently traveling for APWQ and will be available on aution at Quiltfest in Summer 2011, Tacoma/WA.

Flor de la Mar - This quilt was made with the early Portugese navigators in mind. It tells the story of a sunken caravelle at the coast of Sumatra. It was first entered in "Challenge 2007" at Innovations/Tacoma, WA. Much more quilting has been added at a later point in 2008.

Blues for Mom - This was a Christmas gift for my mother, who asked for something blue. I didn't have it quite finished in time, so she unwrapped a basted quilt on Christmas Day. I brought it back home and took another six weeks to quilt it. She plans to re-do her guest room around it!
