Name of Maker: Carolyn Chapman
Valentine Quilt for Bernadine - A Valentine Wall Quilt for my 94 1/2-year-old Mother. The Ruffled Roses center is embellished by adding parts of a crocheted antimacassar made by Bernadine's mother, Mona Thompson (1892-1992).
Alphabet Alchemy
Name of Maker: Janet Stone
Alphabet Alchemy - I wanted to make an alphabet quilt using stitching as the alphabet. Each block was pieced, quilted, mounted on heavy pellon, then attached to the quilted background using tiny brads. Lots of embellishments and doo-dads! This is the one quilt I have made where, if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing!
Nouveau Quattro Alfabetico
Name of Maker: Janet Stone
Nouveau Quattro Alfabetico - This design was based on the classic art nouveau alphabet which I mirror imaged vertically and horizontally. It was my attempt at showing how letters can be used beautifully as a design element. It was machine appliqued, reverse appliqued, pieced and machine quilted. Lots of embellishments were used. (Love embellishments!) It is number 6 in my alphabet quilt series.
Alpha

Alpha"baa"t Sampler - I had had the idea for this quilt for awhile, and when I saw the fabric with the printed lower case letters on it, I knew it was time to make it. It was my first attempt at curved piecing. This is the fifth quilt in my alphabet quilt series, (my plan is to make 26), which I am hoping to finish before I am 60!

Name of Maker: Kathy Lawrence
unnamed - When I started quilting I almost immediately started looking for a pattern for our bedroom quilt. When I saw this 2"x3" picture in a magazine I knew immediately that this was the quilt for me. When I was a miniaturist I was always making large things into small things. Now I was faced with turning a very small picture into a queen sized quilt. It took a while but it was finally accomplished. At the quilt store they said for a beginner you sure did pick a difficult quilt, you will never finish it. Well after six or seven years it was done.
