My First Quilt - This pattern was on a magazine cover in the early 70's. Based on the description of the quilt, and the references to the size of the blocks, I adapted the block for my quilt, and chose a different color scheme. This project was years in progress, and went through several moves, before being completed during my second pregnancy in 1981. Knowing absolutely nothing about quilting, I chose poly-cotton blend fabric. The size of my bed increased from full to queen during this time frame, and I used the backing fabric to make the solid blocks, in order to increase the size of the quilt.

Elizabeth's Grandma's Flower Garden - This was my traveling project quilt through years of waiting at piano lessons, ballet classes, rehearsals, etc. Elizabeth chose the colors and most of the fabrics. She was able to drive by the time it was finished!

Julia's Christmas Quilt - Christmas Quilt for Julia, granddaughter of my friend Wendy. Wendy had seen Charlotte's quilt, and asked me to make one in the same genre for Julia.

Isabelle's Christmas Quilt - Christmas gift for the granddaughter of my friend, Wendy. My first commissioned quilt. Wendy saw Charlotte's quilt and asked me to make something in the same genre for Isabelle.

Charlotte's Birthday Quilt - Birthday quilt for 3-year-old Charlotte, the granddaughter of my husband's cousin. She likes pink and polka dots, so both were featured in her quilt.

Paula's Favorite Color - This was a thank-you gift to my lifelong friend for hosting my husband and I in her home in Alaska for a week. We had such a good time. Her favorite color is blue.

Love X 2 - When American Quilter Magazine announced its 'Beyond the Block' mystery quilt challenge I knew it would be perfect for the Laurel Burch panel I had purchased some months proir. I chose 7 of my favourite horses and entered the contest. I didn't win, but I enjoyed the process, and ended up with a very contemporary quilt that I love!

Sweet Dreams - In anticipation of my two grandchildern I made two quilts, like the twin girls they are not identical but similar. A four patch combined with a appliqued hart block. I so enjoyed appliquing the hearts that the time flew by.

Broken Heart - Was piecing this quilt when I had to let go my first dog. Quite an appropriate title for the quilt! Finally quilted it this year.

Papercuts and Toile - Inspired by schirrenschnitte blocks found in original Baltimore Albums made between 1845 and 1855, I set about to create my own "album" of papercuts. I thought they'd be perfect frames for the pastoral scenes depicted in the toile print.

Birds 'n Urns - I began with the 1930's series quilt Garden Bouquet, changed the pieced blocks to applique, kept the birds and some of the flowers, added flowers from Magic Vine and Laurel Quilt, added a few of my own and designed a whole new setting.

Jen's Gift - This quilt was a thorn in my side and I was so happy to finish it - it took probably 3 years. The piecing was easy but just as I started to quilt it my machine decided that it no longer wanted to work. (It still doesn't work right).

Teddy Bears - The teddy bears were adapted from internet clip art. They were made, stuffed slightly, and added after the quilt was finished. The alphabet was hand appliqued.

Dancing Faries - My first commissioned piece for a preteen who loved princesses. I used pink and purple minky fabric ND did a random tilt to fairy princess blocks.
