Helkat! - Self -portrait from 7 to 70! Images were digitally altered and distorted. The design was created at 30" square and then chopped and printed on 100% cotton. Machine quilting, and mounted on corduroy.
After the Winter Storm - In the winter of 2009 we( in the Seattle area) were buried in snow. lol One evening I looked out on my deck and saw the snow piled on the railing and on the bird bath. I thought this view would make a wonderful wall hanging. So I snapped a picture and as they say the rest is history.
Follow the Path - This is my artistic design of a snow shed on the Iron Goat Trail on Stevens Pass, WA. My husband hikes and took the picture of this old snow shed that covered the rail road tracks there on Stevens Pass. This old railroad right away is now a 6 mile hiking trail. There are many old railroad artifacts along this picturesque trail.
Good,Bad & Ugly - This was a challange quilt useing one piece of someone elses "ugly" fabric with my own stash. It will be displayed at the Valley of the Mist Quilters guild annual show in Old Town Temecula, Oct. 1,2011
Family Tree - This quilt was made for my parent's 60th anniversary. The tree is from the pattern, the rest is based on aspects of their marriage. The stone house, including the odd shaped sidewalk, is behind their house.
Monet Garden - My friends went to France and visited Monet's Garden. They came home with wonderful pictures. I used the pictures along with ideas from a class given by Kathy McNeill to make the quilt.
Faith Rhapsody - This type of quilt was so freeing to make. I loved the process and how the quilt told me what it wanted to be each step of the way. Embroidery Designs by Embroidery Library.
Finally - This quilt began from a kit by Jinny Beyers. I needed to increase the size so I changed/added borders. I also changed the medallions. This is my first bedsize quilt. My first attempt at free motion quilting. It was machine pieced and quilted on my domestic machine (Bernina).
Red Letter Daze - This quilt was inspired by antique Quaker cross stitch samplers. The letters and scroll designs were all free motion embroidered. Lots of crystals, beads, and gold filigree pieces adorn the quilt. (I just love a few sparkly things!) I finally won a REAL Best in Show at MQX East this year with this quilt!
