Safe Haven
Name of Maker: Pat Brown
Safe Haven - This paper pieced design, done in reds and tans, is "God's love shining through any storm". Very appropriate with the 4 hearts each facing a different direction.
Tree of Life
Name of Maker: Pat Brown
Tree of Life - I used the "Tree of Life Central Medallion" and modified it to be an appliqued tree that I trapuntoed and stitched through to create branches and visual interest lines in the trunk. I then appliqued oak leaves and acorns around the edges.
Little Butterfly
Name of Maker: Jane Karhu Powers
Little Butterfly - I took the picture in my backyard, drew it out and turned it into a little quilt. The adventure was a first and so much fun!
A Day at the Beach
Name of Maker: Debbie Kendall
A Day at the Beach - I made the quilt top in 2007 and did the quilting in Summer 2011. I quilted two dolphins in the water and a sandcastle in the sand.
Happiness is...

Happiness is... - Happiness is... was an applique quilt on the cover of Australian Patchwork and Quilting in 2002. Vol.7 No.8. This quilt continues to be my favorite in my collection of quilts.

Hula Auction Quilt
Name of Maker: atkinssm
Hula Auction Quilt - I made this quilt to take to Maui on our next trip. It will be donated as a silent auction item at our granddaughter's upcoming hula show/fundraiser.
Black & White + One
Name of Maker: atkinssm
Black & White + One - My guild had a challenge using black & white fabrics plus one other color. This small quilt was made from pieces left over from another quilt.
houses and heartstrings
Name of Maker: Brenda Bailey
houses and heartstrings - I started this after a class with Paula Doyle of Green Mountain Quilts in Staines Surrey England. I took a long while to make this as other projects became more important - ie new grand children arriving in the family, older grand children going into 'big boys beds' - you know the scenario! But I eventually finished it and showed it to Paula.
Living Adventurously
Name of Maker: Judith Caroline Lynch
Living Adventurously - Free motion machine quilted with text (approx. 4500 words) taken from my son Nick's emails to family and friends when he had a "gap year", going around the world before starting university in 2004. The centre circle shows the Pacific Ocean and the places that he visited in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and America as he travelled around the world.
Dr. Milan and Mrs. Mary Brandon
Name of Maker: Joan Rae Johnson
Dr. Milan and Mrs. Mary Brandon - This is a portrait quilt, made with guidance from Marilyn Belford, Realistic Fabric Portraits and Quilt University. The dress is stitched with Sulky rayon and then Superior Metalic threads.
Lexies Quilt
Name of Maker: Lori Platt
Lexies Quilt - Enjoyed using Bonnie Hunter's Sister's Choice block/workshop and modern fabrics to make this scrappy bright quilt. The woman I made this for is a dancer, aerialist, performer and I felt this was a wonderful happy mix that represents her personality so well.

65 and Holding
Name of Maker: Needlepullingthread
65 and Holding - Blue florals with tan sashing started as a workshop, continued at a retreat and finished with a heavily stitched "65" in the corner. Then I realized that my sister was 69. Hence the name "65 and holding.
