March Madness - I made this quilt during March Madness to honor my team, the Kansas Jayhawks. I used polar fleece for the backing to make it extra warm and snuggly.
Patriotic Quilt - This was a Block of the Month from a shop in the Houston area called Front Porch Quilts. They are no longer in business, sadly. I love this quilt and had fun doing so many techniques. The applique is fused and machine stitched. The writing is machine embroidered. I thought Memorial weekend would be a good time to upload this photo.
Rock On - A baby quilt for my husband's friends on the event of their first child (Jet Michael). The dad is the lead guitarist in the rock band Crimson Glory. All black & white prints (mostly musical notes themed) with three applique guitars and backed with black fabric with multiple types of guitars.
Mary, Carol and Me! - I adapted a Mary Sorenson vase and flowers design, Carol Armstrong's appliqued squares design idea, added my corner blocks, and there it was - Mary, Carol and ME!
Roseville - I loved Maggie Walker's design, but I just had to embellish it further! Then I purchased some actual Roseville vases to display along with the Quilt. Fun!
October Sky - This was my 2nd pieced quilt that I made in 2004. I had it professionally quilted in 2008 and entered it in 2 quilt shows. It has received a 1st and 3rd Place Ribbin in two different shows.
A Change in Attitude - I made this top with the instructions provided by Charlotte Angotti and Debbie Caffrey for the show 1010. I finished it on May 24, 2012. I plan to continue using elements from the quilt to expand it to King size so I can use it on my bed.
Duquesa - I saw this pattern in a magazine and I almost overlooked it because I wasn't crazy about the fabrics in the pattern. I learned a long time ago to look around the fabric and reall study new patterns
Fire Escape - I loved this pattern but felt the strips were too wide so I cut everything down by 1/3. I used the queen size pattern so I could use more fabrics and ended up with a nice lap size. I made 8 in. blocks of the rest of the fabric (I always buy extra) and put them together for the backing. It's my favorite quilt so far this year.
Enchanting Roses - Completed my 2011 BOM in March 2012. Entered in MQS Show May 2012 and won a ribbon- 2nd place Traditional Custom. It was a wonderful, unexpected surprise. Another ribbon June 2012 at the Minnesota Quilter's Show - 2nd place Mixed Technique.
