Dawn of Inspiration - As the batik precut 2 1/2" strips got put together I knew it had to have more contrast and light so I found the coral pink gradiated fabric and the yellow/green/coral fabric to compliment the dark busy batiks.
"My Butterfly Flutterby", was the 4th quilt I ever made. I really enjoy machine embroidery and wanted to see how they would look on batiks. - Using placement ideas from McKenna Ryan's "Bela Garden" quilt, I chose embroidered butterflies as the theme of this quilt centered around a butterfly view of a Texas scene of wild flowers. The center fabric is embellished with embroidered wild flowers, appliquéd house, and embroidered trees. It features a 3-D embroidered butterfly. Machine embroidery patterns are by Embroidery Library and Singer. A double row of prairie points features 2 fabrics.
