Blessed
Name of Maker: djane
Blessed - This quilt was made using traditional quilt block pattern from HST received in the TQS SOTT and Batik Friendship Triangle exchanges. It also includes HST from an exchange at my local quilt shop.
Very First Quilt
Name of Maker: Maxine Lewis Olson
Very First Quilt - This is the first quilt I ever made. I estimate I was a very young teenager. It used to have those silver paper stars glued on the blue field but they are long gone. I have often thought of adding stitched stars but I have decided to leave it be for the present time. It measures approximately 4"x6". I find it interesting that I hid stitching on the bottom of the stripes and whipped stitched the top of the stripe.
My First Quilt
Name of Maker: Debra Yates
My First Quilt - Saw the design liked it so I tried it. Had just bought a sewing machine and was learning to sew. Decided I wanted to make a quilt now I'm hooked.
Message of the Golden Dolphins
Name of Maker: Alison Stratman
Message of the Golden Dolphins - This quilt is a healing quilt affixed with 144 tiny rubies which can both help balance the heart, and help in grounding the individual. It is based on sacred geometry, and utilizes rainbow colors.
Anchor Up
Name of Maker: Sharon Wiley Hightower
Anchor Up - Anchor Up was inspired by a photo I took on a small-ship cruise in Alaska. The chain and its rusty surround are key to the architecture and function of the ship. It was an even stronger statement when greatly enlarged.
Nite Owl
Name of Maker: Sharon Wiley Hightower
Nite Owl - This is part of a series of bird quilts. The owl is a symbol for wisdom, but as an art form it is about feathers and color details.

Honor, Courage, Commitment!
Name of Maker: Cheryl
Honor, Courage, Commitment! - This honors my Husbands retirement from the USN after 30 years. 9 blocks include his patches from 7 Submarines and 2 Sub Tenders. The center is the Mustang Emblem for when he was commissioned LDO. Bottom left is the Silver dolphin for qualifying Submarines and then there is the Gold Surface Warfare for the surface ships. the Flags have a total of 30 stars, one for each year. This was a collaboration with my sister in all aspects of the planning and construction.
Queen of Scraps
Name of Maker: Rita Connolly
Queen of Scraps - I adapted a design from Bonnie Hunter's blog in her Leader and Ender tutorial. I quilted this quilt as a QAYG (quilt as you go) project using a walking foot and straight line stitching. I got the idea for the stripy triangle border from a stash-buster idea from the TQS newsletter some time back.
Baa Baa Black Sheep
Name of Maker: Rita Connolly
Baa Baa Black Sheep - I made this quilt for a friend's niece. Love making sheep. I stitched the nursery rhyme all around the sashing.
Brighten the Corner Where You Are!
Name of Maker: Rita Connolly
Brighten the Corner Where You Are! - I was inspired to make this quilt after watching the show on TQS with Jacquie Gering. The words were inspired by a short film by Pam Holland about women quilting in Africa. I just used three fat quarters some plain white fabric for the front and a yellow fabric for the back. All left-over scraps were pieced into the back of the quilt too.
Maeve's Quilt
Name of Maker: Rita Connolly
Maeve's Quilt - This is my version of the Craftsy Block of the Month 2012. I did not stay with all the patterns but adapted some original ones of my own.
Patches of Sunshine

Patches of Sunshine - This is my version of Ricky's primitive quilt block.

Prickly Abode
Name of Maker: Janet Hartje
Prickly Abode - I made this pattern from a photo of a saguaro cactus taken by me and a Dover coloring book image of a Gila Woodpecker. I used colored pencils and so soft paints to create the image. This was created for Minnesota Contemporary Quilters abode challenge. The Gila Woodpecker uses the cactus for it's abode.
