Defining Moment - Captured photo at sunset at Kapolei, HI the night we decided to relocate from Hawaii after 17 years in order to move to Colorado to care for both of our mothers. Used photograph to make a pattern for wall quilt.

She used scraps from Neckties, Vests, Skirts, Ribbons, etc. I recently inherited lovely antique famly heirloom. Quilt #11423 documented by Colorado Quilting Council July 2006.

Franny's Fresh Linen - I'm a new quilter who was invited to our guild's retreat. I pieced over 1,200 triangles in this Mystery Quilt project. Named quilt to honor mother-in-law who recently passed away. It includes some of her precious linen. I'm officieally hooked on quilting now!

Wild About Shoes - I made this quilt top for my niece who is wild about shoes. I added animal skin fabric and tropical flowers to the Alexander Henry shoe fabric which was my inspiration. The top is complete and quilted now. I need to replace with a new photo.

The Twins: Heather - Embroidered blocks made in the 50s or 60s were given to Christine's granddaughter, Heather, who gave them to me to make a quilt. I made 2 - one for each of them - to match the style and period of the embroidered block. They were thrilled.

No Coward Here - The background of this is a log cabin and was pieced by my sister Jackie for a quilting challenge. I knew immediately it would have a lion's face in the center.

Star Applique - This quilt was found in an attic in a garbage bag (good shape). I was commisioned to finish it. I think it was done in the 30's by the colors but not sure. It was stippled w/ longarm and binded by hand (myself) w/muslin backing.

Moms Christmas - This was a project that just sort of evolved into a Christmas gift for my mother. I added the flying geese to the border to give some movement.

Dablin Wedding Quilt - My mother appliqued some blocks and I pieced the rest of this one. We made it as a wedding gift for my cousin, Angela and her husband, Richard. Of course I did all of the machine quilting.

Grandma's Churndash - I took a traditional churndash block and used two main fabrics. I offset the churns with a sashing and red cornerstones and lastly a red binding. I was so glad to finish all those blocks!

Slightly Fruity With a Richly Textured Finish - I asked a friend (Linda Morris) to piece this for me just because I wanted to quilt it. I created the trapunto patterns for the grapes and leaves that I did in the open spots. This is my favorite quilt that I own.

Butterfly Quilt - Vi Colombe lives in South Dakota and only makes star quilts. She won the Bush grant last year for her quiltig. She is only the third person in their history to win in the textile division. She will be featured in the April Quilters Newsletter. This quilt now has three dimensional butterfly on it.
Rose's Star Quilt

Rose's Star Quilt - Over 30 year old quilt top that was started by Rose's grandmother, finished by Roses mother and Rose gave it to me to quilt. This quilt has been photographed and has shown up in travel guides, newpapers and magazines. It seems to have a life of it's own. I loved quilting it and I didn't want to give it back. When you stand back and look at, it pulsates.
