Quilt For Scott - I purchased this kit from one of the shops visited by my very first shop hop bus tour. It was so much fun. I saw this sample hanging in the very last shop we were going to, and I knew I had to make it for my son-in-law. He had taken my 12-yr-old son both duck hunting and deer hunting this fall, andy my son loved it. Didn't get to shoot at anything, not until he's had some gun safty classes. He enjoyed the male bonding though. This was my way of saying thank you.
Hanaka Lights - While recovering from a broken wrist I took a paper piecing class and then made this for my sister in law who is recovering from colon cancer. Each candel has 16 pieces and as you can see there are 32 of them.
High Way to Recovery - I made this one after seveal friends were diagnosed with brest cancer. The label lists all of those who have touched my life that have either had and recovered from breast cancer or who have moved on. There is a pink ribbon for each one worked into the pattern. The woman in the picture is my 84 year old mother who is a breast cancer survivor.
Frosty - I made two of these from kits I bought. One I gave to my operating room for a raffel and one of my doctors bought it. This one I made for a recovery room nurse who loves snowmen.
Oh No! - This center of this quilt was created during a online quilt class with Marilyn Belford. The rest was all in my head after several trys using EQ5 to come up with a boarder to no avail. The white scroll work was inspired by.....
Salmon Run - Living on the west coast with a husband who does charter fishing, salmon play a big part in our lives. I'm proud of this as it's the first I designed from concept to finish and it received a 2nd at our guild show last year.
Free to Fly - Caryl Bryer Fallert visited our quilt guild and this is the project that we made in a workshop. We focused on the gradation of color using her hand-dyed fabrics.
Orange Daisies - This is a photo taken of my garden flowers and transferred to fabric on my printer. I then embellished it with free motion, hand embroidery, yarn couching & beads.
Bennett's Retirement(Fishing with Spongebob) - Retirement wall hanging made for co-worker retiring from the US Navy. Spongebob was one of his favorites. Pierced Attic windows with border. Quilting done on machine. Border quilting is ocean wave pattern
Elbert's Tree of Life - Apples are appliqued, tree truck is appliqued, Leaves and stem is appliqued, quilt tied to imitate tree top, border is handquilter in and apple pattern, pictures are printed on fabric that is iron on material. Father had cancer and was under going treatment and this was his comfort quilt during his stay in the hospital.
seagull by the seashore - this is fabric that has been hand painted, seagull was a pattern that I created, the quilting is raw-edge applique and free hand quilting.
CARLY'S SAMI - I MADE ONE OF THESE FOR BOTH OF MY DAUGHTERS TO IMMORTALIZE OUR DOG, SAMI. TRIED TO COORDINATE WITH EACH DAUGHTER. (INTERESTS, COLLEGE, ETC)
