Get Well Already! - Central machine appliqued figure of a shaman with "attitude", surrounded by flying Geese and framed on either side by southwestern motifs of thunderbirds, kokopelli, and geckos. Fabric used is flannel.

Spiraling Out of Control - This quilt began in a class at the local quilt shop, using Barbara Olson's book 'Journey of an Art Quilter', where I pieced the center spirals. The teacher told us to leave the outer tails longer so we would have the option to do whatever we wanted to with our quilt (hers had become a flower), mine decided it wanted to continue spiraling. I free hand drew the various spiral shapes, and cut them out using the pieces cut out as more spirals and then adding more smaller ones too. Including the center spiral there are 96 spiral shapes total, hence "Spiraling Out Of Control". I also outlined each section in the center spiral with a coordinating novelty yarn. This quilt is still a work in progress, I believe it is close to being ready to be quilted.

Flaming Pride - Pink triangles were used by the Nazis during the Holocaust to identify homosexuals in the death camps. This symbol has been reclaimed by gays and lesbians as a symbol of pride as we continue to fight oppression

Pack - All from one fabric no background fabric, stack-whack-design on design wall for a whole new creation.

Green Tea - This quilt is made entirely of green scraps and fat quarters. Even the back is green!! My daughter named it, Anna, named it.

Tessellating Stars - This quilt is a product of a class at Quilt University using exclusively Thimbleberries fabrics. I used my EQ5 program to print out a layout of the quilt which I colered in with crayons. Joining this block pattern was confusing and I referred to my paper frequently. Eventually, making this quilt became addictive. However, I didn't finish it as we had to pack up and move. I have the piano keys border all set to go and hope to finish it soon.

Redwork - I taught my mother-in-law how to redwork and she liked it so much that she kept going. We had this idea to put the redworked blocks into a quilt. It was given to her granddaughter for her birthday.

Bold Pinwheels - Ginny Beyer fabrics upon a black tone on tone background. Colorwheel used as an aid for color and block placements rather than using color value placements- I wanted the eyes to dance around this quilt in appreciation of color. Not shown in photo is a wide border with more pinwheels. The quilting is in a swirl pattern to portray pinwheel movement.

Civil War Sampler - This quilt was made as a project from a Saturday Sampler class at The Fig Leaf quilt shop in Fort Collins, CO.

DAISY PLAY - This was Alex's free pattern with her line of fabric. Thank you Alex!! Note: I had to turn in the borders to fit on my display rack.

Mark's Favorite - I started with a large (purchased) tie-dyed piece. After machine quilting, I added crystals.

Two of Every Kind - Original design, original applique created around a Noah's Ark theme for a new baby's nursery.

Erzulie - A quilt depicting the Haitian Voodoo goddess Erzulie. This quilt focuses on the goddess's connections wtih water and love.

Ayodele - A small wall quilt that uses Adinkra symbols from the Ghanaian Ashanti tribe. The occasion was M. Ayodele's 30th birthday. All the symbols were sketched freehand and then cut into applique templates.

Notes from the Bottle Tree - This quilt was made as a gift for the opening of playwright Addae Moon's play "Notes from the Bottle Tree." It was completely hand-sewn and features motifs and symbols from the play text.

My Rosy Heart - 440 2 1/2 in squares in mostly rose patterned fabrics. I use it as a table cover or extra throw on my bed.

Talking Opera - Table runner, focus blocks cut from opera themed fabic. Inner border of same red synthetic as third border & binding.
