Grandma's Berry Patch - Made for my grandmother's birthday. It has photos of all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in the centers of the block. My grandma loves the color red and strawberries, so I incorporated them into the design. She loved it!

Sashiko and Octagons - Kitty Pippen's book really knocked me out! After reading this book I went back and looked at my fabric stash, and discovered I already had quite a few Asian fabrics. Sashiko is such a lovely, dainty addition to a quilt, I instantly fell in love with it and just had to try it.

Twin Motorcycles - After making the "Frogs" quilt for their mother, the twins wanted quits of their own. These are backed with Flames fabrics, blue and red, and quilted with a motorcycle panograph. Now Dad wants a quilt too --- of SNAKES!
Tommy's Dragon

Tommy's Dragon - This dragon appeared on a pocket of a t-shirt that Tommy wore till it literally fell apart. I scanned the pocket on my HP scanner, and enlarged it to make a 40-inch-long applique. The dragon is machine-appliqued on to Jinny Beyer fabric and very finely quilted (Tommy's still a little guy so the quilt had to be durable and washable).

African Rainbow - Fell in love with this when I saw it at the Road to California in a vendor's booth a couple of years ago and bought the book right then and there-but made the quilt two years later. The fabrics are batiks and hand-dyes mixed with animal prints-leopard, tiger,zebra. I made this quilt for my sister, who worked at a Wild Animal Park for more than twenty years.

Almost Amish - Machine pieced, hand quilted/ machine quilting in white grid. I sat with an Amish lady who taught me hand quilting one afternoon. She said after 6 hours of practice I would become better and better. Many callouses, and many hours later she was correct.
