Koi - My Sept.2006 Journal quilt and explorations of color principles (complementary in this case) inspired this quilt. It is two sided: the back is as if you were on the bottom of the pond looking up at the koi's bellies to the surface and sky above. More pics on website/blog.

Moses - This is a handquilted, depiction of Moses parting the waters. The border is as seen on one of Alex's shows...only I cut the squares in half to create a flat side to the border before applique.

Remembering Grandparents & Great Grandparents

Remembering Grandparents & Great Grandparents - I made this quilt for a family reunion raffle. I used "Printed Treasures" cotton fabric sheets for the photo printing of the ancestor appliques. I used Electric Quilter 6 quilting software to make the design. The colors are dark reds, creamy yellow floral and a sepia brown floral for the border and the double wedding ring center.

Manor House - I took a picture of the side entrance to our house and this is what I came up with. Of course, I combined all of my flowering plants' blooming seasons to have them all in bloom for this piece. Lots of fun. I can't wait to explore with my camera again.

Swallow Tail - I took a picture of this guy in my garden with my new SLR digital camera. I made about 5 different versions until I settled on this one. The butterfly is 3D using wire. It really was fun trying out new techniques.
