Mary Jean's Liberty Star - This lap quilt was made for my deceased mother's best friend, Mary Jean Douthitt, in honor of her 83rd birthday. Mary Jean loves all things Americana. In fact, she drives her little White Rabbit around town with a U.S. flag flying. Yes, she's very active and an inspiration to everyone who knows her. In the four corners, I used silk thread to embroider the year of her birth in one corner, the current year in another, her monogram in another corner and mine in the last. She's been our family friend since I was born and became friends with my mother in/around 1933. I love her a lot.

Wedding Quilt - This is a quilt I made for my wedding (07-07-07) to be used as a wal decoration for the Wildflower theme. It is made with Texas Wildflower material.

Kitty Caper - Made as a gift for my partner at work as she loves cats.

A Walk Down the Path - I took a design class and this was the result.

Round and Round We Go - I bought the templates and played with the fabric.

Butterfly Tulips - Used 30's fabrics. got tired of putting on tulips so turned them into butterflies and used half the amount. Then emborderied the butterflies. Looks totally different than the pattern.

Autumn Trip Around the World - I had been intending for a long time to make a fall-leaf quilt, and had considered and abandoned a number of other patterns before I found this small (3") paper-pieced leaf pattern on the website small-expressions.com. I used a great variety of fabrics from my own stash and other people's too! I improvised the trip around the world arrangement of the colors as I went along. I originally intended to make a small quilt, but the blocks were fun to make, and I kept going until I had 196 blocks.

(Who) Ordered Chaos (?) - This was an experiment is moving from one color to another and then another. And although the each individual block is somewhat chaotic, in the end all blocks were cut to a uniform size of 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" and assembled in an orderly 10 block by 10 block grid.

Matt's 18th Birthday Quilt - This quilt was made for my son Matt on the occasion of his 18th birthday. It is a combination of some new Moda fabrics and a lot of scraps too. It's the first time I've made a quilt using traditional colors, and after doing it, I think I've grown up a bit. I no longer feel that everything has to have purple in it, or is bright, although I do still love purple, and I do still love bright.

Sought-after Neighborhood - Using bright, contemporary fabrics, I constructed a lively & inviting neighborhood.

Confetti Quilt - I just cut foundations and sewed crazy scraps on with a black print for the center block. Used confetti looking fabric for sashing and borders.

Tea Cups - This is a set of four quilts, each measuring 24" x 24". The yellow fabric used as the background in the majority of the blocks and the binding was perfect as it had squiggles, suggesting steam coming up out of the cups. I then hand-painted yellow squiggles on white fabric to use as the other background fabric, to compliment the first fabric.
