This bytes - This is a queen size quilt that I made for my dear brother. He loves his computers and so I made him a quilt with nothing but ones and zeros on it. Every single block is a different font. By the time I was almost finished Embroidering all the blocks I was so sick of black and white. But the quilt turned out wonderful and my brother loves it and uses it on his bed. I think there was something like 42 blocks or something.
Country Apples - This quilt pattern attracted me immediately. I love the country look of it but think it would fit in most decors. It was my first attempt at applique.
The Ladies of the Sho[ - Since retirement I have worked in a quilt shop. When I came across this pattern I decided to make the ladies of the shop, where I work.
The Gypsy In Me - This quilt was a challenge from our guild for a self portrait, in honor of the guild's 25th anniversary. I used lots of color, decorative stitches, fibers, buttons, and beads. It won the challenge award.
One block wonder - This quilt was started in a workshop by Maxine Rosenthal and Joy Pelxmann from their book One-Block Wonders Encore. The fabric I used for the background is Kaffe Fassett's "Kirman Black."
I Was In A Tizzy - I attempted to create movement by the choice of fabrics used in the stars. It is not a stack and whack, but a paper pieced project. I beaded the stars and the binding.
Sun, Moon, & Stars - This quilt was made as a result of a guild challenge. The quilt needed to represent a source of light. I chose to do the sun, moon, and stars, which shine upon the earth, as well as my sewing machine.
We're Having a Heat Wave, A Tropical Heat Wave - I used a pattern then added the sun to the top, used a lot of decorative stitches and beaded the top extensively.
Basket of Fruit & Veggies - Made with a charming line of fabric featuring fruit & veggie prints. I designed and made the dimensional basket and filled it with corn, apples, lemon, & a pear.
Barns through the Seasons - There are 13 blocks, each depicting a barn from around the United States. Each barn has animals but only one has a human. The center block with the human shows the only interior barn view. This quilt is heavily embellished with silk ribbon embroidery. Each block is hand quilted, the entire quilt was hand pieced and hand appliqued. It took 5 years to finish.
