Que es KS?
Name of Maker: Jo Mrvichin

Que es KS? - This quilt is inspired by Ricky Tims visit to San Antonio; thanks to his instruction and creativity, and my stash! I've been wanting to make something for my sister, who lives in Kansas, but didn't want the same old country sunflowers. I used a large scale and a small scale print, with other batiks and dyed fabrics. I quilted it with various cotton, rayon, and metallic threads, and tacked on a thread painted sunflower done on a water soluable stabilizer. I planned the binding to accent the piece, and hand stamped and painted the solid golden color in the binding to add more interest. Thanks, Ricky!

Black Lacquer Luster
Name of Maker: Patty White
Black Lacquer Luster - Our son and daughter-in-law asked me to make this quilt for them to give her brother Mike for Christmas. What fun! Our son selected and purchased the fabrics and Mike loves it! One request was that I use high loft batting. Sadly my machine doesn't quilt that very well so I hand quilting it on my big frame. Not so bad as I listened to 8 or 9 books on tape during the process:)
Peaceful Villages
Name of Maker: Patty White
Peaceful Villages - Japanese friends brought the fabrics for this quilt from Japan, and it took me several months to muster the courage to cut it! Some of the fabrics had been used in garments and resold! How special is that! I am very pleased with the way it turned out and very pleased with the permanent memories I have of our special Japanese friends.
Happy Faces
Name of Maker: Patty White
Happy Faces - Home for a few months during her time as a missionary in South Africa, our daughter asked me to make her a quilt to take back with her. I had been sewing most of my life but never had gotten around to making a quilt. She searched through the many quilt books and patterns I had collected thru the years and found the one she thought was perfect. She loved the happy little girls. As I started I had no clue exactly how or what to do, but learned a lot and have been happily quilting ever since.
